The ultimate coming together of graphic recorders, visual facilitators, sketchnoters, illustrators, and anyone who loves working visually to capture, collaborate, and communicate better!

ESTABLISHED 2018

The inaugural VizConf 2018 conference, with the theme Think Global, Draw Local, was a huge success. The event attracted over 90 attendees, 15 volunteers, and two top-notch keynote speakers in Melbourne pioneer Jessamy Gee and US-based top-selling author Sunni Brown. Building on this success, 2019 bought the community together once more with a rousing opening keynote from Sarah Firth, the launch of GRA and a closing keynote from Heather Martinez.

Previously, VizConf has followed the principles of an un-conference format, or “open-space” conversations. A self-organising way to enable sharing, fluidity and an independent approach to time together. In 2023, we’ll be keeping some time for this style of session, but we are also structuring around this some intent-led panel conversations around capturing the hard stuff (sensitive topics, cultural issues, and the confidential), what tech developments and AI mean for the future of creative industries and holding discussion groups around sustainable work practices, running a successful business and sharing in a ProCreate Brains Trust – the real tips and tricks to take your work to the next level!

We’re proud to have secured a gorgeous Southbank CBD space to come together that’s equipped with beautiful large whiteboard walls, interactive screens and the space to enable collaborative scribing and multiple graphic recordings to occur simultaneously. Allowing us all a chance to learn, share and explore our practice at a deeper level. We promise it won't disappoint.
